I called the Columbia/Boone County Health Department today to get information about flu shots. Here’s some things you might want to know:
Who? The Health Department can be reached at 874-7453 or 874-7356.
What? The department offers flu shots and a FluMist — a nasal spray that is just as effective as a shot — until vaccine supplies run out.
Where? The department is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located on the corner of West Boulevard and Worley Street, at 1005 W. Worley.
How long? Flu shots are good for 1 year.
How much? The cost is $20, payable by cash or check.

One piece of information I found interesting from the press release was that 3,400 Boone County residents have gotten immunized. This is out of population of about 135,400 people in the county.
