The MU Law Democrats hosted a candidate forum for the Columbia mayoral and Boone County presiding commissioner races last night. Brianna Lennon, executive director of the MU Law Democrats, said the group wanted to give law students an opportunity to be involved.
“Law school is only three years so it’s not very common for law students to have a stake in city or county government, but we wanted to show that opportunities were out there,” Lennon said.
About 20 people attended the event, and Lennon said she was pleased with the turnout.
Mayoral candidates Sid Sullivan, Jerry Wade, Paul Love and Sean O’Day attended the forum. Boone Country presiding commissioner candidates Bondi Wood and J. Scott Christianson also participated in the forum.
